How to Stand a Chance to Win Brighterly’s Scholarship for College Students

Are you a graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in a US college or university who wants to be a teacher or tutor? Do you want to know how to get scholarships for college? 

If yes, why not throw your hat in the ring and become a winner of the competition? Brighterly, a web-based platform for helping youngsters overcome math challenges, is offering a $500 scholarship for one lucky winner. 

Submission requirements

We will only accept submissions from graduate and undergraduate students from a US college or university looking to be teachers or tutors. The requirements are the following:

  1. Write an essay on the topic “How Can I Conduct a Math Lesson with a Child?” (minimum 1000 words) and send it to [email protected]. Please note that we only accept one essay per entrant for the writing competition.
  2. The submitted essays must be in line with the following instructions:
    • Submissions should be properly-written, stand out, and show your passion for the cause.
    • English is the only acceptable language for the essay.
  3. The application must include these details:
    • Term: (e.g. Spring 202x)
    • College or University: (Name of school)
    • Name: (First name, Last name)
    • Phone: (Your phone number)
    • Email: (Your active email address)
  4. Submit your essay in a Word document or PDF format only.
  5. Applicants of the scholarship for college students should follow us on Facebook and Instagram and send photo evidence.
  6. After writing, send your essay as a PDF file to [email protected] with the subject line “How Can I Conduct a Math Lesson with a Child?” 
    • Tell us how you found out about the Brighterly scholarships for college students.
  7. Please attach proof that you are a graduate or undergraduate student enrolled in a US college or university.

Note: All submissions must be the author’s unique ideas and efforts. Do not submit plagiarized essays. Also, every entrant is limited to one submission. Any contestant who lifts a third party’s work or submits more than one essay will be disqualified.

Evaluation

This essay writing contest is a closed competition, and a commission of our tutors will choose the winner. Our tutors will look for interesting, engaging, and original essays. Your essay must be descriptive, sequential, educational, and realistic. Consider that the following points will be evaluated by the judges when reviewing your submission:

  • Is your proposed teaching strategy appropriate for children?
  • How original is your essay? 
  • Does your essay depict a realistic tutoring approach?
  • Have you demonstrated a passion for teaching?

Our tutors are neutral and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in interactive learning. Thus, you can trust that we will make the finest choices when awarding college scholarships to graduates or undergraduates.

Privacy Policy

Upon submitting your application, you agree to allow Brighterly to publish your name, university, and photographs on our website. Once our capable team of tutors chooses a winner of the scholarship for college students, the personal information of the others will be wiped clean from the database. 

Our policy protects your personal information, including your email address, and we only use it to contact you concerning the Brighterly essay competition. We will never use any communication you provide us for marketing or promotional purposes. Also, we will never give away your email address or any other personal information to third parties.

Scholarship award

The prize winner will receive a $500 grant from Brighterly. We will use the winner’s email address to contact the scholarship recipient and expect the winner to respond to the email within a five-day window.

How to submit the essay?

Brighterly’s scholarship essay contestants must fill all entries using the scholarship submission form. You can get the form from Brighterly’s official site and make submissions to [email protected].

All entries must be well structured and written in English; poorly-composed essays will not be accepted. After submission, participants should wait to hear from Brighterly for the next steps. If an applicant’s essay is not selected, they will not get further information from us. 

Eligibility

All graduates and undergraduate students from US colleges or universities are eligible to enter the contest. They are to indicate their schools’ details and other information confirming their studentship in their application. No Brighterly workers or family members are eligible for this competition to eliminate the possibility of bias in the selection process.

Disclaimer

Brighterly will not use the college scholarships 2022 essays for marketing purposes or to create listings. All essays are intended strictly for the competition. You will be disqualified from the competition if you do not follow the instructions and fail to meet the submission conditions. 

The scholarship will be paid via mail to the winning applicant. Like other college scholarships and grants, the offer will be automatically revoked if the winner does not reply to the email within five days.

We retain the right to post winners’ photos and school information on Brighterly and all affiliated websites. You can rest assured that your personal information is safe and will only be used for the scholarship’s purpose and to disclose the competition winner on Brighterly’s website.
