The Ukrainian-founded online learning platform has been recognized by TIME and Statista as one of 17 fast-growing companies reshaping education worldwide.

NEW YORKJuly 22, 2026 — Brighterly, a K–12 learning platform helping students build strong foundations in math and reading, has been named to TIME’s World’s Top EdTech Rising Stars 2026 list.

The Rising Stars category is published alongside the broader World’s Top EdTech Companies 2026 ranking, developed by TIME in partnership with Statista. This year’s research reviewed more than 6,000 companies worldwide, evaluating financial performance, innovation, and impact on the education industry.

“Being named one of TIME's World's Top EdTech Rising Stars is a great honor for Brighterly.”

Schools and teachers do important work, but it can be hard to give every child the attention they need in a classroom of 30 students. Some children need more support, while others are ready to move faster. Our goal is to make personalized learning available to more families — something that can be difficult to provide consistently in the current U.S. school system,

Brighterly combines live, one-on-one instruction with adaptive, AI-powered practice to help students strengthen their skills in math and reading. Its tutors hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in math, English, education, or a related field, and bring an average of five years of teaching experience. The curriculum follows U.S. state standards, so Brighterly lessons complement what students learn at school.

The platform is growing against the backdrop of an uneven academic recovery in U.S. education. The latest NAEP Long-Term Trend results, released in June, show that nine-year-olds improved in reading and mathematics between 2022 and 2025, but scores for 13-year-olds showed no significant improvement and remained below pre-pandemic levels in both subjects. For families of middle schoolers in particular, the gaps left by pandemic-era disruption have not closed on their own.

TIME’s recognition is Brighterly’s second major industry achievement in 2026. In June, the company won Student Personalization Solution of the Year at the EdTech Breakthrough Awards for its human-led, personalized learning model.
