Precious Angel P. Taytay is an ELA and writing tutor. Seven years of teaching experience, split between private schools and ESL classrooms.
At Brighterly, she is guiding middle and high school students through literary analysis, grammar, and essay writing. Her approach is calm and structured. She gives students room to try new skills without worrying about getting it wrong.
Education and Professional Skills
A Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English, from the Misamis Oriental Institute of Science and Technology — that’s where Precious’s training started, back in 2016. Licensed Professional Teacher status followed, along with TEFL, EFSET, and IELTS certifications.
Strong roots in English education, paired with international teaching credentials: together, they give Precious the range to work with students from different backgrounds and skill levels, wherever they’re starting from.

Private schools first. ESL classrooms after that. Seven years, split fairly evenly, before Precious ever joined Brighterly. Her background covers:
- 5 years of teaching experience in private schools, working with students across different age groups
- 2 years of ESL teaching experience with students from different countries and cultural backgrounds
- Regular focus on communication, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
- Lessons adapted to fit different learning styles and cultural contexts
Now she brings all of it to Brighterly’s editorial team, guiding students through literary analysis, grammar, and essay writing.

I teach with a calm approach and a clear goal: to make learning enjoyable, to help students feel safe making mistakes, and to ensure progress happens every lesson.
Current Activities and Approach to Students
Reading out loud, thinking out loud — Precious models her own process while working through a text, asking questions and making predictions so students can watch a skilled reader in action.
Stories connect to real life in her lessons. Other books, real events, a student’s own experience: Precious draws these threads together, and a text that once felt distant starts sticking in memory instead.

I teach students to read like confident, critical thinkers.
Creative writing and grammar close out each lesson. Essays, short stories, poems, personal narratives — students work across all of it, with grammar practice tied directly back to whatever they’ve just written.
