Hanna Charise Lanza’s Experience Before Brighterly
Before Hanna joined Brighterly, she was a private math tutor, working both online and offline. During her 5 years of experience teaching private math lessons, she taught local and international students from Grade 5 to higher levels. Hanna supports students across various skills and backgrounds, adjusting her teaching methods to each student’s needs and learning pace.
As she joined Brighterly, she’s dedicated to bringing her experience to help students ramp up their skills fast and max their potential.
“Brighterly is a perfect fit for my teaching style, where I can fully concentrate on one student. ”
From the very beginning of my career, I observed children coming to 1st session with complete disinterest. I get that — school can rush kids to learn the concepts they’re supposed to, whether they understand them or not. This is not an ideal situation for anyone: when they’re “not good at math”, they lose interest. This is what we’re doing at Brighterly — we rebuild students’ confidence and help them move forward in math.
Current Activities and Approach to Students
Hanna has been a private math tutor for 5+ years. She works with students of various levels: beginners, average learners, and advanced students, tailoring her teaching method to each child. Hanna assists with homework, school curriculum support, and test prep. Hanna is committed to helping students see that math isn’t that hard and start to think like a mathematician.
She also provides additional practice exercises to close learning gaps and follows the student’s syllabus, which is her top priority. Hanna keeps in close touch with parents to update them on students’ progress and prepares regular, easy-to-follow written reports. She believes:
- No student is inherently bad at math. It’s all about the right methods and approaches to support them.
- Before anything, build rapport with students and create a comfortable learning environment so their skills can flourish.
“Every student’s success is my greatest achievement.”
When we work through a problem and it finally clicks, I feel real joy. And in response, I see joy in their eyes. So, in the next lesson, they actually want to do some math!
With 5 years of experience, Hanna is determined to continue to develop her expertise. She is actively exploring new teaching methods and attends events and seminars to expand her teaching skills.
