April Patigas’s Experience Before Brighterly
Before Brighterly, April had a rich background in working with students both as a classroom teacher and a tutor. April supported students at various levels — from foundational math to Algebra and Geometry. She coached students through homework tasks, conducted consultations to bridge learning gaps, and provided test prep support.
Now, backed by her broad experience in math tutoring, she joins the Brighterly team.
“What led me to Brighterly is that it helps students improve math skills in less time, with more purpose and joy.”
Schools often fail to deliver individualized attention to every student, which most of them need. Brighterly is the tool to do that. Here, I can take into account every student’s pace, learning style, and unique needs. Brighterly allows tutors to become students’ companions in math and meet them exactly where they are. So, I can be the person who really helps students overcome math struggles, not just blindly follow the curriculum.
Current Activities and Approach to Students
As an educator with a background in both traditional classroom and tutoring for 18 years, April brings a unique perspective and adaptive teaching techniques to help struggling students. Her professional expertise spans from Elementary to complex problem-solving and exam prep.
Today, April puts her knowledge into practice with Brighterly students. She uses her skill set to effectively help kids become more confident math learners and apply their knowledge in the real world independently. Her beliefs:
- To teach math so that students use it outside of class. Math is a life tool, not just another class to pass.
- No student is just “bad at math” — every child has the ability to excel at it.
“From homework to test prep, I bridge learning gaps with one-on-one support.”
I build learning lessons around each child’s unique needs. No student comes to the class with the same questions or challenges, so every lesson reflects that.
As an educator of 18 years, April prioritizes building trust with students, using her excellent interpersonal skills. She believes that learning never stops for educators, too. April continues to expand her expertise and pursue further professional development.
