Marvi M. Andres is that very Brighterly reading tutor who will make your child fall in love with the subject. By showcasing the diversity of text genres, she demonstrates the impact of reading. Although she’s primarily qualified in conducting Reading Comprehension lessons, she also works hard to develop free resources that make education more accessible to any elementary or middle school grade.

Education and professional skills

In 2014, Marvi earned a degree in Education with a major in English. During the following years, she continued to expand her tutoring skill sets by participating in numerous courses and examinations. Some relevant certifications she received include:

  • TESOL Methodology
  • TEFL Certificate

All of the above certificates prove her unparalleled qualifications as a reading tutor for kids.

With a strong focus on understanding the diversity of learning styles and developing reading intuition, Marvi M. Andres describes her approach in the following way:

Past experience and qualifications

Before starting her career at the Brighterly reading & math tutoring platform, Marvi had successfully pursued teaching for 10 years. During her first time as the teaching specialist, she’d been deeply engaged in both in-person and virtual learning environments, helping students develop reading fluency through one-on-one sessions, audio lessons, and video calls. 

She regularly collaborated with homeroom teachers to assess academic progress and provided constructive feedback to parents who needed it. Known for her ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds, Marvi consistently maintained high levels of student satisfaction and met performance benchmarks.

Making kids love reading as the key approach

While working as an online reading tutor for Brighterly, Marvis has demonstrated a range of innovative approaches. As said, her main priority is on making kids love the subject. She believes that this can be achieved by showing pupils the power of literature. Through developing critical thinking with kids, she encourages detailed analysis of plot structure, characters, and literary devices used.
